Chapel Hill ISD Flyer Distribution Guidelines

Chapel Hill ISD is committed to supporting community partnerships that enhance opportunities for students and families. To ensure consistency, fairness, and minimal disruption to the instructional environment, all non-school materials must follow the guidelines outlined below.

Flyer Distribution Process

Chapel Hill ISD utilizes a digital flyer approval process for all outside organizations. Paper flyers from external organizations will not be distributed on campuses.

Organizations wishing to share information must submit their flyer for review and approval by emailing theCommunications Department

All submissions must include:

  • Organization name

  • Contact information

  • Event or program details

  • Requested campus(es) (if applicable)

  • A digital copy of the flyer

Flyers should be submitted at least 10 business days prior to the requested distribution date.

Once approved, flyers may be shared through designated district communication channels, which may include district or campus websites and/or parent communication platforms.


Guidelines for Approval

Chapel Hill ISD authorizes the distribution or display of communications from school-related and qualifying outside organizations that promote programs, activities, or events that benefit students.

Approved materials must:

  • Be youth-focused and support student development

  • Promote activities that enhance the health, education, or well-being of students

  • Be appropriate for a school audience

  • Be non-controversial in nature

Chapel Hill ISD does not distribute materials that:

  • Promote for-profit businesses or services

  • Include political messaging, advocacy, or campaigning

  • Contain content that conflicts with district values or student safety

  • Are discriminatory or inappropriate for students


Distribution Limitations

To protect instructional time and ensure equitable access:

  • Flyers will be distributed digitally only

  • Distribution is subject to approval and scheduling by the district

  • Flyers will not be distributed during the first two weeks or the final week of each semester


Required Disclaimer

All approved flyers must include the following statement:

“This activity/publication is not sponsored or endorsed by Chapel Hill ISD.”


Definitions

School-related organizations may include parent-teacher organizations, booster clubs, employee organizations, and other groups affiliated with Chapel Hill ISD.

Outside organizations refer to non-profit or tax-exempt organizations that are not directly affiliated with the district.


Additional Information

Approval of a flyer does not constitute endorsement by Chapel Hill ISD. The district reserves the right to deny any submission that does not meet these guidelines or align with the district’s mission and standards.
