Student Identification Badge Requirements (Secondary Campuses)
To support a safe and secure learning environment, Chapel Hill ISD requires all secondary students to wear their official student identification badge while on campus.
Effective Date: Wednesday, January 7, 2026
ID Badge Expectations

Each student is issued one free student ID badge and lanyard at the beginning of the school year.

Students must wear their ID badge visibly around the neck at all times during the school day.

ID badges must be presented immediately upon request from any staff member.
Hallways & Campus Events

Students who are outside of class during instructional time must have their ID badge visible.

Students found without an ID badge will be escorted to the office for verification and follow-up.

Student spectators attending on-campus extracurricular events must present their ID badge upon request.
Replacement Policy

Lost ID badge replacement: $5

Replacement lanyard: $1

Replacement items are issued through the campus office once payment is received.
Safety & Verification Procedures

Staff members will stop and verify the identity of any student not wearing a visible ID badge.

Students are required to present their ID when requested.

Refusal to present an ID badge will result in immediate referral to the campus office for administrative intervention.
Accountability & Enforcement

Students: Must comply with ID badge requirements. Repeated violations may result in disciplinary action as outlined in the Campus Handbook.

Teachers & Staff: Responsible for verifying student identification and addressing non-compliance.

Administrators: Conduct routine compliance checks and provide follow-up when necessary.

Office Staff: Maintain replacement records and report repeated violations.
