To be eligible to operate CEP, a school or group of schools within a district must have an Identified Student Percentage (ISP) of 40% or higher.
Chapel Hill ISD offers a free breakfast and a free lunch to all district students at all schools beginning in the 2020-2021 school year and still remains in effect through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) (one meal per student. The district wants to ensure students eat healthy meals so they can focus on learning. Any additional food items at all campus levels or a-la-carte items at the secondary campuses (drinks, chips, water, etc.) will be at normal rates. Charging will not be allowed per USDA rule for any of these items.
Parents will not be required to submit a free/reduced meal application, but Chapel Hill ISD is asking that families complete the socioeconomic information form because the district receives funding that requires this information. It is important that we continue to collect this information for funding purposes.
