Currently Accepting New Members
Join our Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) now and help transform our students' educational experience through innovative facilities suited for the 21st century. In 2022, great work was done by our Long Range Facility Planning Committee to evaluate our facilities. This year we will be revisiting and reviewing those facility findings.
Why join the Committee?
The FAC consists of community members working together to provide the School Board of Trustees recommendations on the district’s facilities, infrastructure, and proposed capital improvement projects.
What should I expect?
The members will be provided with facility tours, presentations from experts, data analysis, group discussions, and more. The five bi-weekly committee meetings begin Tuesday, October 18, and end Tuesday, December 6.
The meetings will be in person and should last no more than an hour and 30 minutes.

Long Range Facility Planning Committee
In 2021, the Long Range Facility Planning Committee (LRFPC) was established to create a community based comprehensive prioritized list of facility needs that address projected improvements of existing facilities, while strategically planning for long-range facilities programming.
Chapel Hill residents, taxpayers, stakeholders, staff, students, and parent with a vested interest gathered to examine the data and reports. Each meeting was held at a different campus offering the community an opportunity to participate.
The vision is to develop twenty-first century facilities that are designed for an innovative and diverse learning environment which will enrich student learning, promote the overall health of the whole child, and foster a sense of pride among our stakeholders while preparing our students to be competitive with the necessary skills and academics to invest back into the local society.
Provide flexibility and adaptability for the Academies of Chapel Hill to grow.
Provide for improved safety, security, and accessibility at all CHISD facilities.
Provide facilities that serve multiple purposes at all campuses.
Provide equity across all facilities in CHISD.
