On February 13, 2023, the CHISD School Board of Trustees voted to call for a bond referendum of $113 million which appeared before voters in May 2023.

The planned projects include new school facilities,  safety and security improvements. Bond funds will be used to improve the learning environments for students and staff.

The Chapel Hill community has demonstrated their support for local education by approving the 2023 school bond in a landmark election. The school bond has passed with a resounding vote in favor of the three propositions.
