Chapel Hill ISD Hosts Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrations

Chapel Hill, Smith County — Chapel Hill Independent School District (CHISD) is thrilled to announce its celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, taking place from September 15th to October 15th. During this month-long celebration, CHISD is committed to honoring the rich and diverse cultural contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities in our schools.

As part of these festivities, CHISD is delighted to invite parents and families from Wise Elementary, Jackson Elementary, and Kissam Intermediate to join us for a series of exciting events that will showcase the beauty and significance of Hispanic heritage.

Hispanic Heritage Night at Wise Elementary

Wise Elementary parents and families are cordially invited to attend our Hispanic Heritage Night on September 26th. This event promises an enchanting evening filled with captivating cultural performances, delectable traditional food, and engaging activities that will delight all ages.

Hispanic Heritage Event at Jackson Elementary 

Date: Thursday, October 5

Time: 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. 

We extend a warm invitation to all Jackson Elementary parents and families to join us on October 5th for our Hispanic Heritage Event. This evening will be an exploration of Hispanic culture through various activities, highlighting the diversity and vibrancy of our community.

Bilingualism Celebration at Kissam Intermediate

Time: 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

All emergent bilingual families in Chapel Hill ISD, are invited to celebrate the importance of bilingualism on October 12. This event is dedicated to enhancing language development and academic success. Join us for an enlightening evening that will equip you with valuable strategies for supporting bilingualism at home and in the classroom.
