Chapel Hill ISD Bilingual Teacher, Mrs. Joanna Esparza, Named Teacher of the Year

Chapel Hill, Smith County, Texas - Mrs. Joanna Esparza, a dedicated bilingual teacher at Wise Elementary, has been announced as the recipient of the Chapel Hill ISD’s prestigious Teacher of the Year award. The announcement was made today during the district's end-of-the-year 

ceremony, recognizing Mrs. Esparza's exceptional dedication and passion for her students.

With 18 years of experience solely within CHISD, Mrs. Esparza has consistently gone above and beyond to support her dual language students. Her innovative teaching methods and commitment to finding resources have inspired and motivated her students to excel.

Mrs. Esparza's selection as Teacher of the Year highlights her outstanding contributions to education and her ability to connect with her students. She is one of the two teachers who will now represent Chapel Hill ISD in the regional race for the esteemed title.

Secondary teacher of the year was awarded to Mrs. Tracy Steele from Chapel Hill High School. Mrs. Steele has been in education for 17 years, all with CHISD.

The District congratulates Mrs. Esparza and Mrs. Steele on this well-deserved recognition and celebrates her as an inspiration to her colleagues and students.

Also, Mrs. Kathryn Wright from the Chapel Hill Junior High, Mrs. Destiney Kissam from the Kissam Intermediate School, and Mrs. DeLisa Ward from Jackson Elementary were recognized as teachers of the year at their campuses.
