The dedicated members of the Jackson Elementary Student Council, along with campus counselor Angela Lacy, recently organized a heartwarming initiative on campus—a canned food drive aimed at supporting local elderly individuals in need. With passion and enthusiasm, these young leaders are working tirelessly to spread awareness and rally their fellow students around the cause. Colorful donation posters adorn the school hallways, creating a visible and inviting presence. The student body is responding with remarkable generosity, as canned goods and non-perishable items pour in from every corner of the campus.

The teamwork and spirit displayed by the Student Council students is truly commendable, fostering a sense of community and compassion within the school. This endeavor not only showcases the power of collective giving but also instills valuable lessons about empathy and the importance of helping those in need. Principal Judy Carpenter remarked, “The canned food drive at Jackson Elementary not only contributes to our community, but also leaves a lasting impact on the students, teaching them the significance of giving back to their community.” Donations are being collected through December 15, 2023 at the school. All are encouraged to contribute.
