A single blood donation can help save lives, but at Chapel Hill High School, giving back has come full circle after students and staff stepped up to make an impact.
Chapel Hill High School was awarded a $1500 grant from Carter BloodCare in recognition of the outstanding participation in blood drives during the 2025-2026 school year. In total, 248 units were donated from our campus alone. These donations have the ability to potentially save 744 lives.
"These donations mean a lot to Carter BloodCare," Tracy Steele said. "But I think it's even more important that our students learn the joy of giving back to your community in any way you can."
Serving as the Student Council adviser, Mrs. Steele focuses on creating opportunities for students to learn firsthand the value of leadership and service.
"There is a huge shortage of blood supply in Smith County," continued Steele. "I am so proud that our school steps up to meet such a need in our community!"
