Chapel Hill ISD offers staff opportunity to earn monetary incentives

In October of 2021, Chapel Hill Independent School District informed all its employees of the new incentive performance pay program called “Turning Learning Loss to Leaps.” 

Each employee can earn up to $1,000 as additional pay by the end of the academic year 2021-2022. The incentive pay will be divided into two phases and is based on performance targets per department. In February, staff could see up to $500 in their account if the first semester performance targets are met. The second distribution will roll out in June with the opportunity to earn another $500. 

Employees received a breakdown of their performance targets based on their department or area of employment in October. The program was created in an effort to align to CHISD’s belief of setting performance targets tied to monetary incentives for all. 

The program is funded by Federal funds and must address certain areas in connection to COVID-19’s impact on education. 

Target areas:

  • Combat learning loss 
  • Recapture students
  • Guarantee safety
  • Provide technology
