District of Innovation

District of Innovation

Chapel Hill ISD’s District of Innovation committee made up of parents, staff, students and business representatives will recommend to the District Educational Improvement Committee (DEIC) and Board of Trustees a plan to become a District of Innovation (DOI). If approved by both governing bodies, the district will have flexibility to create an academic calendar that best meets the needs of Chapel Hill ISD students.

As the district considers academic calendar planning for the next school year, it has become important to also consider if the current academic calendar best supports student achievement, or if there are other innovative and flexible approaches the district can take to maximize instruction and learning.

CHISD  is forming a Calendar Committee, to be made up of staff, students, parents and business representatives to review the needs of students, understand the pros and cons of different calendar approaches, and propose different options for consideration and adoption.

If you are interested in being a part of the 2019-2020 Calendar Committee, please click on this link (Calendar Committee Application) and fill out the form.
