The Chapel Hill Education Foundation will be opening its resources for the first time in spring 2022.

“We look forward to seeing exceptional ideas from our outstanding Chapel Hill staff. We hope to spark creative participation by encouraging teachers to dream big and think outside the box,” said Cindy Gaddis, President.

The foundation, which was established in May of 2021, is made up of seven officers and three board members. The mission for the non-profit organization is to provide grants to teachers. Teachers are asked to create and present an innovative project aligning with the district’s curriculum and Texas Education Agency’s Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).

Our foundation has received an anonymous donation of $24,000 to be distributed among the five campuses in the fall of 2022. Board members will lead grant workshops this spring to assist teachers as they prepare to apply for “Innovative Teaching Grants”.

Applicants can be individuals or teams of individuals employed by CHISD, as long as a direct impact on students can be demonstrated.

The foundation depends solely on volunteers and donations.

“Although our initial grants will start small, our intentions are to grow and provide additional monetary resources each year. The only way we can increase grant gifting is through increasing awareness and sponsorships,” said Gaddis.

Grant applications open Monday, March 21, and can be found on the foundation’s website (give website).
