Agricultural Sciences will begin with the Principles of Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources for freshmen. This course places an emphasis on the academic skills and knowledge related to the field of agriculture. Second year students enroll in Livestock Production where they will examine animal systems and the workplace, as well as develop knowledge and skills regarding career opportunities, entry requirements, and industry expectations.
Veterinary Medical Applications students will have the opportunity to take the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the Certified Veterinary Assistant Level I Exam.
Students can take Advanced Animal Science if they had previously taken Biology, Chemistry, or IPC as well as Algebra 1 or Geometry. This advanced course is designed to allow the application of scientific and technological aspects of animal science through field and laboratory experiences.
