Although only on the campus half of that school year, his high school campus still received six of seven academic distinctions. His son’s 2011-football team unfortunately did not take home the State Championship Trophy that year, as did his dad’s 1989 football team. Nonetheless, both Mr. Dean and his son, Deaveron, count it a blessing to have experienced the exhilarating emotion of winning enough games under the Friday Night Lights to be propelled into an opportunity of a lifetime…both got the thrill of playing for a State Championship!
