Dyslexia Resources Webmix

  • Audio Books

Probably the most important accommodation that can be encouraged and provided to middle school and high school students is access to textbooks and literature through audio books.  Learning Ally and Bookshare are primary resources for audio textbooks when audio books are not provided by publishers.  An additional resource for audio books of literature would be to purchase a membership with audible.com.

    Learning Ally

If your child has a documented disability that limits or prevents his or her ability to read standard print effectively, he or she is eligible to become a registered  Learning Ally member.  This includes children with visual impairments, learning disabilities (dyslexia) or other physical disabilities.  Your child also qualifies for a Bookshare account if he or she is qualified for a 504 services plan due to dyslexia.
Ask your child's dyslexia teacher for more information.
