About Coach Tracy Steele

Mrs. Coach Steele has been at Chapel Hill for 6 years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. Mrs. Steele received her Masters Degree in Education from The University of Texas at Tyler. She teaches the TAKS Science courses, Biology and Anatomy of Physiology. She is the head soccer coach, assistant cross country and track coach. Mrs. Steele and her husband are the sponsors for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).

Each student is responsible for keeping a notebook that counts for a test grade every six weeks.

 

Course Descriptions

Biology I (0310)
Grade: 9    Length: 2 semesters     Credit: 1 credit per year      GPA weight: 1.0
This course emphasizes:

  • the scientific process laboratory activities
  • the chemistry of life
  • genetics, evolution, and ecology
  • structure and function of the cell
  • biological classification and diversity
  • plant and animal anatomy and physiology

Anatomy and Physiology (0370)
Grades: 10-12    Length: 2 semesters     Credit: 1 credit per year      GPA weight: 1.0
Prerequisite: Biology I

Note: This course is part of a coherent sequence of courses in Health, Science, and Technology and is a required prerequisite prior to enrolling in Health Science Technology III (Emergency Medical Technician course).

This course emphasizes:

  • the essential facts of human anatomy and physiology and basic biomechanics as they pertain to physical activity
  • investigative techniques and laboratory opportunities will focus on essential information of the structures and functions of the human body's various systems relating to the maintenance of homeostasis due to the physiological effect and forces placed upon the body

TAKS Science (0007)
Grades: 11-12    Length: 1 semester     Credit: ½ credit per semester      GPA weight: 1.0

Note: This course will be required for all seniors who did not master Exit Level TAKS Science and recommended for juniors who did not master 10th grade TAKS Science.

This course emphasizes:

  • an intensive review of TAKS Science objectives

Girls Soccer (2054) (2049)
