       1st Grade News

We have taken our end of the year TPRI test.  Parent  conferences are being scheduled so we can talk about your child's TPRI results and yearly progress.  By the end of the year, first graders should be reading 60 words per minute with good comprehension.  Math will be busy as we get our addition and subtraction skills strong for second grade.  This last six weeks, we will also be learning about measurement, temperature, area and weight, and parts of a whole (fractions). We will take an end of year Math test, too. Science and Social Studies are especially fun as we learn about plants, caring for our Earth and the summer Olympics.  Friday afternoons are now "Fun Fridays" as we reward good behavior with fun activities like:  Balls and Bubblegum, Skates and Scooters, and Water Play.  Check your child’s folder for details coming soon!

It was a snowy day in March!
