Introduction to Visual Communication Processes (7050)
Grades: 9-10 Length: 1 semester Credit: ½ credit GPA weight: 1.0
This course emphasizes:

a hands-on exploration of visual communications methods in photography, video, and computer-video integration
formats, techniques, and artistic skills within several visual communications fields
an exploration of industrial and new technology applications

Introduction to Media Technology (7051)
Grades: 9-10 Length: 1 semester Credit: ½ credit GPA weight: 1.0
Prerequisite: Introduction to Visual Communication Processes recommended but not required
This course emphasizes:

an understanding of the various careers in the media and communications fields through a laboratory-oriented course
an introduction of radio and television production, photography, advertising, and computer-generated graphics

Media Technology I (7052)
Grades: 11-12 Length: 2 semesters Credit: 2 credits per year GPA weight: 1.0
Prerequisite: Introduction to Media Technology

Note: This course meets two periods per day.

This course emphasizes:

the operation different types of cameras
mastery of audio techniques
electronic editing
creating of media graphics
script writing, direction, production, and set design
special effects
signal control and monitoring equipment
career opportunities

Introduction to Graphic Communication Careers (0830)
Grades: 9-11 Length: 2 semesters Credit: 1 credit per year GPA weight: 1.0
This course emphasizes:

a broad base of career opportunities, training requirements, and minimal skills in graphic communications, advertising design, drafting, and commercial photography
