About Mrs. Blake
I have been teaching for 25 years!  My how time flies when you're having fun and that's what our reading is about.  This is my 5th year in Chapel Hill and I am so blessed to be able to work with such amazing 8th graders.

Course Descriptions

READING                                       All Year

Reading is designed to particularly assist those students who scored below 85 percent on the TAKS Reading test. The course includes: 1) Word attack skills to decode written language 2) Vocabulary development to understand written materials 3) Comprehension skills to gain meaning from what is read 4) Reading skills applied to a variety of practical situations. A key focus is to assess and improve the students’ needs in reading. Students will also be involved in the Accelerated Reader program for the development of independent reading.
