Welcome to Art I & II Your wonderful students will be learning about the basic design principles and art elements and use this knowledge in many different kinds of projects. They will learn to do both two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork. We will learn to critique and intelligently discuss art, both old, new, and personal. Several times throughout the year we will hang art shows in various areas of the school. It is an exciting year ahead of us! The talented students who have advanced to Art II will have some challenging and fun projects that push their current knowledge and skills to develop beyond what they learned last year. Pre-AP Art
We are beginning a new class this year that will give students the opportunity to earn high school credit hours. The CHMS Art Teacher is working with me to develop suitably advanced and challenging projects so that these talented students can create a high school level portfolio.
2008 East Texas State Fair Art Competition- These students competed first against other CHMS students to be chosen for the competition. Unfortunately, none of them placed in the contest. Yet, the fact that they were even chosen to go is a big deal. Their art work will be on display at the next East Texas State Fair! If you don't want to wait that long... here is a sneak peek!
