About Ms. Little

I am a 1990 graduate of Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts High School in Natchitoches, LA.  I graduated from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA in 1994 with a BS in Biology.  I completed my teacher's certification at McNeese in 1997.  I received a MEd, also from McNeese, in 2005.  I have 10 years teaching experience.  I love helping young people learn science.

Integrated Physics and Chemistry (0300)

Grade: 10     Length: 2 semesters      Credit: 1 credit per year        GPA weight: 1.0

Prerequisite:  None

This course emphasizes:

  • basic concepts of chemistry and physics
  • safety procedures, measurement, phases of matter, chemical reactions
  • motion, work, sound, light

Chemistry (0340)
Grades: 10-11     Length: 2 semesters            Credit: 1 credit per year           GPA weight: 1.0

Prerequisites:  Successful completion of Biology I and Algebra II (or concurrent)

This course emphasizes:

  • basic tools and terminology and nomenclature
  • atomic structure as it relates to chemical reactions
  • matter, energy, chemical bonding, reactions
  • acid-base theories
  • qualitative and quantitative laboratory experience used to reinforce concepts and principles
  • a hands-on, conceptual approach to the study of Chemisty
