About Ms. Little

I am a 1990 graduate of Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts High School in Natchitoches, LA. I graduated from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA in 1994 with a BS in Biology. I completed my teacher's certification at McNeese in 1997. I received a MEd, also from McNeese, in 2005. I have 10 years teaching experience. I love helping young people learn science.

This course emphasizes:

basic concepts of chemistry and physics
safety procedures, measurement, phases of matter, chemical reactions
motion, work, sound, light

Chemistry (0340)
Grades: 10-11 Length: 2 semesters Credit: 1 credit per year GPA weight: 1.0

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Biology I and Algebra II (or concurrent)

This course emphasizes:

basic tools and terminology and nomenclature
atomic structure as it relates to chemical reactions
matter, energy, chemical bonding, reactions
acid-base theories
qualitative and quantitative laboratory experience used to reinforce concepts and principles
a hands-on, conceptual approach to the study of Chemisty
