Classroom News

Please check student class planners for notes, behavior messages and any homework.

 All students have a list of math vocabulary and science vocabulary words which they should know. They will be tested on matching the definitions and the words.   Students keep these 2 lists in their orange take-home/homework folder.  They should practice them at home and also at school.     We are trying to help Kissam students understand and use important vocabulary words every day.   You can help by checking them at home, too.

 It is the end of term I, the first 6 weeks.  Report cards go home Thursday, October 9th.  We will have a good behavior party on Friday for those students who have learned self-control.   I like to call this the E-Club or EXCELLENT CLUB.   We will do some fun science activities that day after lunch.   Those students who do not control their own behavior will not attend.

You will see more science activities this term II.   The first term is a lot of learning expectations and procedures to be safe and use the right tools for the right information.   This next term you will see more science grades for assignments done in class.    Watch for the science vocabulary words.   Students need to learn the language of science and math.

 We have a new textbook this year.  It includes computer activities.   If you would like a CD to use at home, please let me know.   I will be sending those home to use during the year.   They will need to be returned to the school, so please make sure they are cared for if they stay at your home.   Thank you.
