Welcome to the New School Year

It is always a nice feeling to be back in school.  As Chapel Hill graduates, Mr. Cunningham and I, personally recognize the advantages that a Chapel Hill education can provide the students at Kissam.  It is our promise to you and your children to create daily a learning environment that supports the needs and goals of all students.

We are committed to nurturing the promise in every student.  We will work to earn parent's trust, and as we do so, we need parents to be actively involved, to stay informed and ask the tough questions.  It is imperative that parents be fully involved in the education of their children. We understand how hard it is for working parents, but we implore you to find the time, every day, to help your children finish school assignments, to read, and to take responsibility for learning. Most of all, we ask parents to love and to praise their child’s accomplishments and teach them the joy in learning and growing.

Thank you to all families that brought their children to school the first week.  Your cooperation in dropping off children and picking them up made traffic run as smoothly as possible.  We would like to thank you for making the first week of school so successful.
Thank you for allowing us to educate your children. Do not hesitate to contact us.

Tips for staying safe:

Always:

  1. Dress well for the weather and stay dry.
  2. Lock your doors and check your windows.
  3. If out past dark, remain in well lit areas.
  4. Stay away from strangers and report any strange activity to your parent or guardian.
  5. Practice safe habits, if you think it may not be safe--don't do it!
