  My Wonderful Family

----------------------------------------

"Paul Fisher sees the world from behind glasses so thick he looks like a bug-eyed alien.  But he's not so blind that he can't see there are some very unusual things about his family's new home in Tangerine County, Florida.  Where else does a sinkhole swallow the local school, fire burn underground for years, and lightning strike at the same time every day?"

About Mrs. Baham
Hi, welcome to my webpage.  My name is Kim Baham, and I've been teaching English at CHMS for two years.  I LOVE it!  For as long as I can remember, I have truly enjoyed being in and around schools and learning, so I was not surprised when I decided to become a teacher.  I earned my Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of North Texas, and now I am able to share my passion for writing in one of my favorite environments, the classroom.

When I'm not busy teaching or preparing to teach, I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping with friends, and singing in church.  My favorite places to visit are New York City and my hometown, Weatherford, Texas.

With only a fewmore weeks of school, there is a surge of energy racing through the classroom.  For the next 6 weeks, the students will be working on a novel study of "Tangerine" by Edward Bloor.  This is a fascinating story of a middle school boy who is dealing with some very unusual things about his family.  We will be working each day on the novel and reading in class.  Be sure and ask your child about events from the day's story.

This Week in Tangerine:

Paul is excited to be playing soccer at Tangerine Middle.  He may be second string, but at least he's on the team.

We see the ugliest side of Erik and Arthur when they make fun of Joey and Mike.  However, Erik is the one everyone is laughing at when he does the "banana peel flip" during the football game.

Joey decides to transfer to Tangerine.  Is it a good idea?

Termites, mosquitoes, and robberies are plaguing the Lake Windsor Downs development.  Who, or what, is responsible?
