About Mrs. Chappa

I have been teaching at Chapel Hill for 8 years.  Prior to that I taught in Dallas and in Franklin, Louisiana.  I received my BA degree in Mathematics from the University of North Texas.  I assist with 9th and JV Cheerleaders as well as co-sponsoring the Science Club.  I am also an active UIL academic coach for Mathematics, Number Sense and Calculator Applications.

I have been married for almost 15 years to Chris who is a math teacher at Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas at Tyler.  We are the proud parents of six year old Emalee.  As my students can tell you, we are avid Disney fans and enjoy traveling.

Classroom Activities

In Pre-Calculus students are reinforcing and extending skills learned in Algebra and Geometry.  This is in preparation for upcoming TAKS testing as well as providing a strong foundation for a successful college career.

Pre-AP Pre-Calculus students are getting a firm foundation to prepare for AP Calculus or college math courses.  These students work extremely hard to master somewhat difficult concepts.

In AP Calculus, students are undertaking the challenge of the upcoming AP exams.  These extremely involved students work to balance a variety of extracurricular activities, jobs and high academic achievement.

My Infinity Project class is beginning to work with some photo software to create their own stories.  Watch for the finished products to be displayed here soon.

UPCOMING EVENTS

The girls in Calculus will be attending the annual Sonya Kovalevsky Day hosted by the University of Texas at Tyler on March 6, 2008
