Classroom Activities

It is my belief that lack of motivation, real-world connections to lessons, and time management are the major contributors to student failure. It is my duty and passion to help students become involved in the world around them, see the importance in education, and monitor time and focus adequately in a structured, mature method.

 

Course Descriptions

English II (0020)
Grade: 10 Length: 2 semesters Credit: 1 credit per year GPA weight: 1.0
Prerequisite: Successful completion of English I
This course emphasizes:

  • utilizing the writing process to develop composition skills by writing different types of multi-paragraph themes of increasing complexity; emphasis on exit-level TAKS ELA
  • developing the skills needed for successful completion of exit-level TAKS ELA
  • using an analytical approach in study of various literary genres; study noted authors from around the world and critically evaluate their works

Girls Athletics
Grades:  10-12        Length:  2 semesters              Credit:  1 credit per year         GPA weight:  1.0
Prerequisite:  Approval of Head Coach
This course emphasizes:

  • skills required for volleyball, basketball, track, softball
  • strength and conditioning
  • teamwork through competition

9th Grade Girls Athletics
Grade:  9       Length:  2 semesters   Credit:  1 credit per year        GPA weight:  1.0
Prerequisite:  Approval of Head Coach
This course emphasizes:

  • developing the same skills as Girls Athletics (see above)
