Math: Speed Tests Tuesday and Thursday New Skills This Week Monday: Addition Meaning and Properties Tuesday: Adding on a Hundred Chart Wednesday: Rounding to Tens and Hundreds Thursday: Rounding to Tens and Hundreds Math Vocabulary Test Friday: Six Weeks Test
Science: We will review that matter is anything that takes up space, and that it comes in three different states - solid, liquid, and gas. We will also learn about the behavior of atoms in these three forms of matter. We will learn that substances can change from one state to another. We will review that matter has physical properties that can be observed with the senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. SIX WEEKS TEST and VOCABULARY TEST THIS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2ND. HOMEWORK: Many parents have asked me about homework. I do not give much written homework. Most of what I assign involves studying basic math facts or vocabulary words (Math and Science). If a student does not make a 100 on a speed test, he/she is to write the facts he/she missed on the back of his/her speed test 5 times each. These corrections are to be returned to me on the day of the student's next speed test. This helps the student learn to memorize their facts better. YOUR CHILD SHOULD STUDY MATH FACTS AND MATH & SCIENCE VOCABULARY WORDS EVERY NIGHT. Miscellaneous: Please remember to sign your child's planner each night. This is our main method of daily communication.
Happy Birthday Daniel P. - October 3
