About Ms. Smith

Name: Denise Smith

Degree:  Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Baylor University
Minor:  Reading Instruction with Kindergarten Endorsement

Experience:  I have taught school for 19 years.  Most of these years were in Kindergarten.  I love everything about Kindergarten! I am a true Kindergarten Teacher at heart! 

Personal:  I have two children-Beau Wesley (17 years old) and Hadley Ashlyn (16 years old).  I love roses, decorating my home, and going to garage sales to find “treasures”. 

Why I choose to be a Teacher:  I believe it is my purpose in life to be a teacher.  It has always been my belief that a Kindergarten Teacher is Part Mom/Part Teacher.  It is a bridge from home to school.  I have a big heart and love for children and get so much joy when I see a child grow so much from the time they enter my classroom until the time I pass them on to their next teacher.  Everyday is a new and fun day in a Kindergarten Class!
