Concert Band
Concert Band is the next step after a students first year in band. Music fundamentals are emphasized while working as an ensemble member with the entire group. Performances include playing at pep rallys, football games, P.T.A. meetings, Christmas Concert, Spring Concert, and U.I.L. Concert & Sightreading Contest. Students are also encouraged to try out for All Region Contest, and participation at Solo & Ensemble Concert.

Sixth Grade Beginning Baritone and Tuba Class
Your child will be taught how to read music and play their instrument. No previous knowledge of music is necessary. We will emphasize the basic fundamentals of playing and proper care of their instrument. Baritone players are expected to take their instrument home to practice 15 minutes every day. Tuba players may check out an instrument for the weekend to take home to practice. Tuba players may also arrange with the band director to stay after school to practice in the band hall during the week. We will have two concerts for the parents. The first concert will be December 13th at the high school auditorium and the second concert will be May 15th at the same site. The baritone and tuba are very important to the overall band sound quality. We hope that you will encourage your child to practice and improve to their highest potential. Our motto: BAND IS FUN!
