About Ms. Parker

Ms. Parker is teaching US and World History this year.  This is her tenth year to teach at CHHS.  She graduated from UT Tyler with a BS in Education and is certified to teach History and English.

Classroom Activities

World History - Chapter 20 deals with Mass Society and Democracy.  The second Industrial Revolution and the effects of the formation of the Union are discussed along with their influence on everyday life in America and abroad.

US History - We are learning about the Holocaust and Postwar America, Chapter 22 in the textbook.  We will watch  interviews of Holocaust survivors and learn about their struggle for life during WWII.

World History Grade 10

Prerequisite: Completion of World Geography

This course emphasizes:

* Ancient Cililizations to the Present
* Maqn and his ways of life throughout history
* The rise and fall of great civilizations and their effects on present-day nations
* A practical understanding of geography using maps, charts, graphs and the globe

United States History Grade 11

Prerequisite: Successful completion of World Geography and World History

This course emphasizes:

* Reconstruction to the present
* Economic, political, cultural and geographic trends in our nation's history
* The historic emergence of the United States as a world power
* A multi-faceted view of our nation in changing times through literature, music, art and film
* The impact of consitiutional issure on American society and the analysis of efferts to expand the democratic process
