To impact student performance and prepare them for future success we will be having after school TAKS Tutorial sessions on February 21, 25, 28, and March 3, 3:30-4:30 p.m. We will provide snacks and transportation. The three drop-off points for transportation will be: 1. Rose Heights Church 2. El Mexicano Grocery 3. Jackson Elementary. In addition, we will be on our advisory schedule three days a week. The time will be used to help foster an atmosphere that promotes high performance and success. Students and teachers will be involved in one of 3 programs at the high school: (1). TAKS enrichment tutorial sessions for students needing the extra instruction. (2). Intervention with those students that have incomplete work and zeros in their classrooms with a program called “No Zeros Allowed.” (3). A homework and study time for those students who do not need programs one or two. Providing early intervention will help prepare our students and give them the knowledge they need to be successful on the TAKS Test, as well as help create an atmosphere that promotes high performance and success. Your support of your child attending these TAKS tutorial sessions is important. By attending these sessions, your child will have a much better chance of passing the TAKS test. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Cindy Noland at 566-2311 ext. 1403.
