About Coach Dunn

Welcome to Coach Dunn's webpage.  Coach Dunn is in his third year at Chapel Hill High School and 14th year in education.  He received his Bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.  Coach Dunn teaches all of the health classes.   He also coaches football and golf.

Course Descriptions

Health (2070)
Grades: 9-12    Length: 1 semester     Credit: ½ credit      GPA weight: 1.0

Note: This course is recommended for 9th graders.

This course emphasizes:

  • facts related to contemporary health issues
  • physical, mental, and social wellness
  • body systems and functions
  • healthy nutrition, eating disorders
  • the harmful effects of illegal drugs on the mind and body
  • basic first aid
  • decision-making and consequences of healthy and unhealthy behaviors
  • abstinence-based education

Boys Athletics (2060, 2044)
Grades: 10-12    Length: 2 semesters     Credit: 1 credit per year      GPA weight: 1.0
Prerequisite: Athletic Director approval
This course emphasizes:

  • football skills
  • track and field
  • strength and conditioning
  • teamwork through competition

9th Grade Boys Athletics (2058)
Grade: 9    Length: 2 semesters     Credit: 1 credit per year      GPA weight: 1.0
Prerequisite: Participation in summer workouts and Athletic Director approval

Note: Ninth grade boy athletes should sign up for this course if they wish to play football and any other sport.

This course emphasizes:

  • developing the same skills involved in Boys Athletics (see above)
